How would you like it if you were a girl and you chose to act like a boy and people made fun of you? Sexism is still alive today. For example, there is sexism in regards to clothes, sexism with jobs, and sexism with the toys available to children.
First of all, there is sexism in regards to clothes. Women are forced to wear silly and inappropriate clothing choices because this is mostly what is available in the stores. Women should be able to wear whatever they want. I don't see why people should make stores just for women and stores just for men's clothes. For girls who are more comfortable wearing boys clothes, this essentially makes fun of them and their choices.
There is also sexism in jobs. Back when women were treated very badly before women's rights, women were not allowed to have any high jobs. For example, women were not allowed to be professors or scientists. They were not even allowed to win high awards! Today women can have a wide range of jobs, but there are jobs that women still haven't been able to get. For example, we have not even been able to have a woman for president.
Finally, there is sexism in the toys available to buy for children. People often think that girls all want to play with dolls fashion. They also think that boys always want to play with weapons and cars, but that just isn't true. Take me, for example. I am a girl, and I love to play with Lego and cars! All of this separating is extremely unnecessary. People are born how they are born, and nobody should make fun of them based on their choices.
In conclusion, sexism is still alive in this country in the areas of clothes, toys, and jobs. I hope you see that sexism and making fun of people based on gender stereotypes has to stop. NOW!
