Make a Paper-Lantern Globe
Make an Interactive Annotated Map Online!
Use National Geographic's "MapMaker Interactive" to make a custom map "tour" of one of the continents. Your map should include at least ten places or points of interest on the continent. You can get your information from educational geography websites, atlases, or geography research books in our classroom.
Save your map after you work on it each day. To save, go to "Download This Map" at the bottom of the window, and choose "Save as XML". You can save to the documents folder on your laptop, but you MUST remember which laptop you are using! Save your map using your name and the continent name.
Example: Mrs. Z's map of Europe (She only added two points of interest so far.)

- Make your game cards in Microsoft Word or Google Docs by inserting "Tables" to make boxes for your cards.
- Write your questions at the top of each card. Don't write the answer! Instead create a QR code for the answer.
- Get your information from the geography books in our classroom. List your source on the bottom of each card. (Source = Title and author of the book)
- Create your QR code answer at www.the-qrcode-generator.com. Select the "Free Text" option. Save your QR code and then copy and paste it into your document.
- You can use this template document, or you can make your own grid for the game cards.
