The Guggenheim Museum Field Trip, February 7, 2011

Wow, what a fantastic trip! The students really enjoyed exploring Frank Lloyd Wright's architecture, particularly looking at the repetitive use of shapes throughout the museum building. The students all visited the Kandinsky gallery to see the REAL paintings that we studied in class. The students also viewed other works of art by early abstract artists as part of the Great Upheaval exhibition. Then the students participated in a sculpture program in the museum's art studio.
