Math Games
I Have ... Who has? Games
I have ... who has? games are a favorite among my students. If you're not familiar with the game, basically it is a group review game that can be played for many math skills. To play the game, you pass around cards to the students, until all of the cards are distributed. One student begins by reading his or her card. For example, he might say "I have 0. Who has 3 times 5?" Then the students must all figure out the product mentally and the student who has 15 will say, "I have 15! Who has ..." and will read off the question on her card. Play continues until all of the students have read their cards and it returns to the first student. This is a fun team-building game that also helps with listening skills and mental math.
I'm including here several of the games that I have made up. Print each game onto card stock, and cut apart the cards. (I laminate the cards before I cut them for longer use.) There is a teacher answer key so that you can easily keep track of the game in case it derails a bit. I store the games in ziploc bags. This is useful to whip out when you have five or ten minutes to fill. My students enjoy when I time them when they play.
