Reader's Workshop Resources

Reader's Workshop is the cornerstone of literacy education in my classroom, and my students approach reader's workshop with ritualistic zeal. My reader's workshop predictably includes a mini-lesson, an interactive read-aloud, and independent reading. While the students are reading independently, I conference with individual students and conduct flexibly grouped strategy lessons. Occasionally I'll use guided reading with a group of students, although for my students, I find that strategy groups are usually more effective.
