School Supplies List, 2011-2012 G&T Third Grade
Dear Families,
I look forward to an amazing year with your child next year! I hope this school supply list will help us begin the new school year with a running start. While I realize that it isn’t always possible to have the supplies ready for the first day of school, I ask that your child bring in his/her supplies by Friday, September 9. I realize that this is a lot for your child to carry to school, so you can bring supplies to the school ahead of time if you prefer. You can drop supplies off at school on September 6 and September 7 between 8:30 and 3:00. Some of these supply items will also be distributed for use with the science teacher and art teacher. (For example, the science teacher requires a notebook, folder, pack of pencils, and roll of paper towels per child. I will allocate those materials from the general supply you send in.) If you have any questions about the supply list or about anything else, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. You can send me an email via the "Contact Mrs. Zimmerman" link.
Warm regards,
Alycia Zimmerman
Student Supplies:
Marble Composition Notebooks, black and white, (5)
1 one-subject spiral notebook
#2 Pencils (five packages)
Post-it Notes
2 Plastic (“Poly”) Two-pocket Folders, red and green
3 Folders (regular), purple, yellow, and one of your choosing
1 package of loose-leaf paper (standard-ruled)
Divider tabs (1 package, 5 tabs)
Markers
Colored pencils
Glue Sticks, 3-4 (permanent glue, if possible)
Small Hand-held Pencil Sharpeners (2)
Classroom Donations (optional):
Tissues
Paper Towels
Liquid Hand Soap
Baby Wipes or Antibacterial Wipes
Quart or Gallon size box of Zip-Loc bags
Index Cards pack, 4x6 inches or 5x8 inches
(All classroom donations are thoroughly appreciated. You'd be shocked at how quickly we go through paper towels and tissues!)
* Extra Items: Next year the students will use the computers a lot! In order to save their work on the communal laptops, it would be helpful if your child could have his/her own USB memory stick/ flash drive, of any size. Flash drives often go on sale at Staples over the summer. Your child will keep the flash drive at school. You may purchase any brand of flash drive of your choosing. The following link is just for example purposes, you do NOT need to purchase this exact flash drive. (Sample flash drive.)
If you could donate a of gallon bottle of spring water for our class frog's habitat, it would be greatly appreciated. Tap water can kill our frog.
